To meet the course's objectives, we need to have a shared starting point of works that we've all read or watched. This doesn't work, though, if we haven't read or watched the works on the same schedule.

So this assignment incentivizes reading and watching those on the same schedule.

At the beginning of each class session in which a reading or viewing assignment is due, you will spend five minutes completing a brief quiz.

Quizzes include 1–3 simple questions, designed solely to assess whether you have read and comprehended the work at a basic level.

Life has a tendency to happen, though, and it's possible you'll miss a few quizzes or not do as well on some of them as you'd like.
